About Me

One of my many happy places. Canmore, Alberta, Canada

Hello/ Dia dhuit / Sael/ Sanbonani!

I am a descendent of the English and Irish Celts and Norwegan Norse peoples. My birthplace however, was close to the cradle of humankind, as I was lovingly brought into this world by my parents, in the small town of Mbabane, ESwatini in Southern Africa….hence the Gaelic, Old Norse and iSiswati forms of hello :).

ESwatini (formerly Swaziland), my birthplace

I have lived most of my life in South Africa, a year in France, a few months in other parts of Europe, a year in Asia (mostly South Korea), and immigrated to Canada in 2006 with my two young lion cub sons and former husband. We settled in Calgary, Alberta for 10 years. When the economy took a downturn, I moved to the Traditional Territory of the Lheidli T’enneh in Prince George, British Columbia in 2016, where my eldest son joined me. My youngest son still lives in Calgary with his dad and paternal grandmother. Sadly our 14 year old Beagle recently passed away, but is closeby in spirit.

My Mum, Dad and two younger sisters have gradually moved to the UK over the past 20 or so years.

In my grown-up life I am an earth whisperer, yoga and meditation instructor, Certified Professional Executive and Life Coach, energy worker, management consultant, artist and author. It is an honour to inspire individuals to step into their greatness, to see the gifts in their circumstances of challenge and change.

Whenever I can, I partner with nature and animals such as trees, horses, lions, elephants and any sentient being that calls my name. I see all of Nature as a mirror to our inner wild nature.

When time permits, I run Marula Wellbeing, offering nature-based wellness coaching and various healing modalities. This service is inspired by the healing Marula tree, which originates in Southern Africa. I lead eco-spiritual retreats on ranches, in forests, and in the African bushveld integrating diverse modalities, including: yoga, meditation, arts, drumming, inter-species communication and oodles of joy!

I am committed to being in service to the planet in whichever way I can. I have volunteered for the Art of Living Foundation, teaching yoga and meditation since 2010. I have been initiated to teach the ancient Sudarshan Kriya breathing technique in the AOL Happiness Program thanks to the grace of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Although I see my life experience as the playground of my most enriching learning, some of my formal education includes: Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Certified Professional Executive and Team Coach, LionHearted Leadership Practitioner, Art of Living Teacher, Ayurvedic Marma Chikitsa Practitioner, Equinisitic Healing Practitioner and self-proclaimed Chocolate Connoisseur!

Mother Earth in all her splendour has held me, nourished me, loved me, nurtured me and been my life support. This blog is a space to celebrate and honour her together with the two-legged beings in my life.

I am an advocate for some of the world’s most endangered sentient beings … lions, elephants, wild horses, ancient forests, rhinos, cariboo, snow leopards, rivers, oceans, whales …. and threatened Indigneous nations, to name a few.

A portion of the proceeds of this blog will go towards some of my favourite nature conservation foundations and projects. Some of these include: The Global White Lion Protection Trust, Worldwide Indigenous Science Network, The David Sheldrick Trust, and others ….

Thank you so much / Go raibh maith agat / Kærar þakkir/ Ngiyabonga kakhulu ,

Jenn
